Distt admin Ganderbal holds public outreach program at Tulbagh Sherpathri

GANDERBAL: In a continued effort to enhance public engagement and address local issues at the grassroots level, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today convened a public outreach program at Tulbagh Sherpathri. 

The program was also attended by the District Development Council (DDC) Vice-Chairperson, Bilal Ahmad, along with other senior officials, to listen to public grievances and ensure effective governance. 

During the event, residents of Block Sherpathri actively participated, voicing their concerns and developmental needs, including proper garbage disposal, construction of a playground in Hatbara, desilting of Qazi Canal, repair of streetlights, installation of distribution transformers, cutting of poplar trees at Middle School Sehpora, establishment of  fire service station,  bank branch at Shallabugh, and construction of bridge at Rabitar.

The locals sought the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner for the timely resolution of these issues. 

Addressing the gathering, the DC reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to reaching out to remote areas and ensuring responsive and inclusive governance. He assured the locals that all genuine concerns raised during the program would be duly examined, and necessary steps would be taken for their redressal. 

Regarding waste management, the Block Development Officer (BDO) Sherpathri informed that garbage collection has been outsourced, and the contractor has already begun waste collection in Shallabugh village.

Additionally, the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) was asked to prepare a comprehensive desilting plan in consultation with the irrigation department for inclusion in the new development plan. 

The outreach program was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Gulzar Ahmad; Program Officer ICDS, GM DIC, CPO, ACD, ACP, and other district and sectoral officers.
