GANDERBAL: A Block Diwas was convened today at the Tehsil Office Wakura to listen to public issues, grievances and demands for their timely redressal.

The camp, presided over by the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Mohammad Altaf, was attended by a large number of residents from Wakura block and surrounding areas.

Tehsildar Wakura, BDO Wakura, and officers from various line departments were also present.

During the session, the residents of Wakura and nearby villages raised several pressing concerns. They called for the enhancement of PHC Wakura’s infrastructure and the establishment of a Jan Aushadhi center there.

Other issues raised included the designation of Wakura as a horticulture zone, improvements to irrigation canals, ensuring seed availability at the agriculture office, and addressing staff shortages at the animal husbandry office, particularly the absence of a veterinary doctor.

The public also demanded upgrades to playfield infrastructure, creation of employment opportunities, establishment of a Skill Development Institute, and the development of a recreational park for children.

Additionally, residents urged the restoration of SRTC bus services to Lal Chowk, improvements to transportation services, and the repair of the deteriorating condition of Wakura-Dab road.

The ACR instructed officers to coordinate closely to ensure the equitable development of all areas. He directed concerned officers to prioritize resolving the public’s genuine demands and submit a detailed report on pending issues for consideration by higher authorities.

The ACR reiterated the administration’s commitment to addressing these concerns promptly and encouraged active public participation in such outreach programs.
