District Indicator Framework for Monitoring SDGs’ progress discussed in Rajouri

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, chaired a meeting to discuss the implementation of the District Indicator Framework for monitoring the progress of district-level Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The SDGs-a set of 17 goals established by the United Nations in 2015 to be achieved by 2030, encompass various critical areas such as poverty reduction, education, health, gender equality, and climate change.

Addressing the officers during the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the SDGs serve as a blueprint for a better and more sustainable future for all. These goals are designed to tackle global challenges including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice.

Highlighting the significance of the SDGs in the district’s development, the Deputy Commissioner urged the officers to work with enhanced dedication towards achieving these goals. “Progress towards the SDGs is paramount for the overall well-being and development of the public” he said.

The Deputy Commissioner further stressed the importance of a collaborative approach in effectively implementing the district indicator framework and attaining the sustainable development goals in the district.

By fostering cooperation and dedicated efforts, the district administration of Rajouri aims to drive positive change and accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals, leading to an inclusive and prosperous future for all residents.

The meeting was attended by key officers including CPO Mohammad Khurshid, PO ICDS Shoket Mehmood Malik, SE Hydraulics Bharam Jyoti Sharma, ACP Sheraz Chowhan, CMO Dr. Rajinder Sharma, LDM Sanjeev Bhasin, Director RSETI Raman Kumar, and other concerned officers.
