Dist Admin Gbl holds Block Diwas at Indoor Stadium, Sehpora

GANDERBAL: The District Administration Ganderbal today held Block Diwas at Indoor Stadium Sehpora for block Sherpathri.

The programme was chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani along with Vice-Chairperson DDC Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad Sheikh and ASP Feroz Yehya.

On the occasion, PRIs and locals from block Sherpathri apprised the ADDC about their needs and grievances including land settlement, Higher Secondary School in Sherpathri, better public transport facilities, upgradation of health, electricity and water facilities, Fair Price Shop in Gundi Rehman, Fire and Emergency service, Aganwardi centers in Shalabugh area, dredging of irrigation canals and repairing of street lights.

After giving patient hearing to the public, the ADDC assured that all genuine demands shall be looked into on priority.

He stressed on the speedy completion of ongoing developmental projects in all panchayat halqas and instructed concerned parties to resolve all issues on priority basis, halting the work execution.

On the occasion, the participants were also apprised about different social security schemes and online services by various departments like Revenue, Agriculture, Handicrafts and other departments.

Among others, the block Diwas was attended by CAO, CAHO, AD, Handicrafts, AD, FCS&CA, Tehsildar Tullamulla, BDO Sherpathri and other district and sectoral officers.

Later, ADDC along with Vice-Chairperson DDC Ganderbal visited Shalabugh wetland which has a total area of land around 20k kanals connected to Achar Lake to inspect the restoration works for restoring its pristine glory. 

On the occasion, the ADDC gave necessary instructions to the concerned for early completion of minor restoration works including dredging and make necessary arrangements for three-day Bird watching festival in Shalabugh wetlands commencing from 13 February, 2023.

PRIs, Tehsildar Tullamulla and officials of wildlife wetlands also accompanied the ADDC during the visit.
