Disseminate Awareness among masses by utilising Public Outreach Programmes: Dr Sehrish tells Authorities

BARAMULLA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting to review the overall performance of banks and other financial institutions for the financial year 2022-23.

On the occasion, the DC took a comprehensive review of various aspects wherein he stressed on the need for cent percent achievement of Annual Credit Plan targets.

Dr Sehrish emphasized upon the heads of various financial institutions to disseminate awareness with regard to the welfare schemes sponsored by them among masses so that people can avail benefits for their overall socio-economic development.

She directed the concerned authorities to utilise the platform of scheduled public outreach programs like Block Diwas so that awareness reaches at grassroots level.

Dr Sehrish further directed the banks and other financial institutions to display hoardings and Smart Screens at appropriate locations, displaying all the sponsored schemes and programmes. She stressed upon the departments to expand the social security network by including more entrepreneurs into the social security programs viz. PMJDY, PMSBY, PMJJBY etc.

While enumerating the list of achievements recorded in the quarter, the Lead District Manager said that the achievements under ACP 2022-23 stood at Rs 719.72 crore against the target of Rs 4101.86 Crores as laid down in ACP. He further informed the meeting thoroughly about the performances recorded in priority and non priority sectors.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, M Yosuf Rather; Chief Education officer, GM Lone; Chief Horticulture officer, Zahoor Ahmad; Lead District Manager Baramulla, Javid Ahmad; DDM NABARD, Zubair Wasil; Accounts Officer, Showkat Ali Khan; cluster head J&K Bank, officers of various concerned departments, representatives of various banks and other financial institutions.
