ANANTNAG: In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the skills and capacities of farmers in the sericulture sector, the Director Sericulture, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat presided over a 05-day Skill Development Training programme at the District Sericulture office Sarnal, Anantnag.
The training programme witnessed participation of local farmers who actively engaged in various sessions and workshops tailored to elevate their expertise in sericulture practices. The event was conducted as part of the ongoing initiatives under the Horticulture and Agriculture Development Program (HADP).
Director during his address emphasized the importance of skill development for farmers in the sericulture sector. He highlighted the role of sericulture in promoting sustainable agriculture and economic growth.
The 5-day programme includes comprehensive training modules covering various aspects of sericulture, including mulberry cultivation, silkworm rearing techniques, disease management, and post-harvest processing.
