JAMMU: Director Rural Sanitation, Charandeep Singh today conducted extensive tours in District Samba and Kathua to oversee the ongoing PMAY-G camps being organized across JKUT to register PMAY-G beneficiaries. During the two day tour, he covered Vijaypur, Mandli, Basholi, Billawar and Mahanpur blocks of the twin districts.
The Director Rural Sanitation directed the Rural Development Department functionaries and all line departments to speedy listing of the genuine claims. The revenue officials were asked to expedite the issuance of land documents so that the bonafide claimants may not face any undue delay. He asked to display a simplified list of documents required to ensure that no claimants are left out.
Upon reviewing the progress achieved in the ongoing camps, he was informed that out of the target of 698 registrations in Block Billawar, 550 claims have been received while 262 claims have been recorded in Bhasoli, against the target of 396. Similarly, out of the target of 84 claims in respect of Block Vijaypur, 65 claims have been processed, while in block Mandli the cumulative progress of 336 beneficiaries has been achieved and the stats for Mahanpur block stood at 522 against the target of 732 beneficiaries.
He also deliberated on SBM-G and urged upon the public in general and officials in particular to leave no stone unturned in creating SBM assets followed by the behavioral change of the masses so that the whole UT of J&K can become ODF+ model.
During interaction with the applicants, Director Rural Sanitation took note and resolved the grievances of the beneficiaries of the scheme. He flagged off door to door waste collection vehicles under SBM-G at Block Vijaypur to facilitate the process of collection of waste from households which is an important component of SBM-G.
