SHOPIAN: The Director, Rural Development (RDD) Kashmir, Imam-ud-Din today visited Vehil Shopian and inaugurated “Vehj Moaj Public Park” at Vehil Shopian, executed by Rural Development Department and coming up at an estimated cost of Rs 8 lacs.
He also visited various works completed by RDD including One Stop Centre and Public Library and expressed satisfaction over the quality of the works.
Later, the Director reviewed the progress of various schemes and other developmental works at Mini Secretariat Shopian.
He directed the concerned field functionaries to speed up the process of execution and ensure completion of all on-going works within stipulated time frame.
Director reviewed the performance of the Rural Development Department with regard to implementation and progress of various schemes in the district.
Detailed deliberations were held on various schemes being implemented by the Rural development department like MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana, SBM-G and 14th FC,TSP and BADP.
Assistant Commissioner Development presented a detailed Power-Point presentation about the achievements and progress made under the centrally sponsored schemes in the district. He said that the district has 25000 active Job cards.
ACD also briefed the chair about the number of works taken up and completed during the year 2019-20 and 2021-22 under MGNREGA and PMAY.
Addressing the officers during the meeting, the Director stressed upon them to work in coordination for better implementation of the schemes on ground and ensure that Government work should not suffer and directed for removing bottlenecks, if any, in execution of development works for timely completion.
BDOs were directed to achieve targets within stipulated time and to work with transparency and accountability.
Vigilance Awareness was also conducted and it was stressed upon all to ensure transparency and corruption free environment in the offices.
SE, Saif Ali Kataria, Assistant Commissioner Development, Hilal Ahmed Jeri, Ex. Engineer REW, Manzoor Ahmed Wani, BDOs, AEs, JEEs and other concerned officers were present.
