KUPWARA: The Director, Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Dr. Parvinder Singh today visited Kupwara to take comprehensive review of progress of various departmental activities and schemes.
The meeting was briefed about the achievements made under various departmental schemes, including HADP (P23, P25, P28), IDDS, IPDP, NADCP, NAIP, ABIP, SSS and KCC through a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation.
Elaborative discussions were held regarding the progress and future strategies and initiatives.
On the occasion, Director e- inaugurated the 21st Livestock Census which is a significant milestone for the district.
Deputy Director Research, Dr. Intisar Amin Makdoomi accompanied the Director during the visit.
The meeting was attended by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kupwara, Dr. Malik Mohammad Ashraf, LDO Handwara, PDO Kupwara, O/I ABS, along with all BVOS and VAS of the district warmly welcomed the visiting dignitaries.
The Director also visited Handwara and inspected the newly operational LDO complex at Handwara and DVH Kupwara, where he interacted with field functionaries. He emphasized the importance of timely and accurate data uploading on the Bharat Pashudhan app, particularly focusing on AI, births, and vaccination figures for FMD, LSD, and Brucella.
The Director urged officials to achieve saturation in all government schemes and promote the adoption of innovative practices such as the use of chaff cutters, establishment of commercial poultry farms, hydroponic units, and improved ration balancing. He also emphasized enhancing milk recording figures and ensuring the active involvement of Pashu Sakhis in these initiatives.
