Director Agriculture visits Kupwara, addresses Kisan Sampark Abhiyan at Wadipora

Says integrated farming has huge potential for sustainable agriculture economy in the region

SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammed Iqbal today visited different areas of Kupwara district and took stock of agriculture scenario in the district.

During the visit, the Director inspected hi-tech poly houses at Handwara. He also reviewed the paddy nurseries in different villages of Kupwara district.

Addressing Kisan Sampark Abhiyan (under Holistic Agriculture Development Program) at Wadipora Handwara, the Director marked the importance of integrated farming for the area. He said to the farmers that the geo-climatic conditions of the concerned area are suitably conducive for the adoption of integrated way of cultivation.

Chowdhury Iqbal assured the farming community of every possible technical guidance from the department. He asked the concerned offices to prepare DPRs for the implementation of various initiatives under HADP. He asked the farmers to come forward and take benefit from all approved projects under HADP. 

Amid prevailing weather conditions, the Director asked the farmers to follow the guidance and advisories by the department. He directed the concerned officers to closely monitor the agriculture activities in the area.

Director also met a number of farmer delegations and took feedback from them regarding the implementation of different programs by the department.

Among others, Joint Director Agriculture Inputs Kashmir, Mohammed Younis Chowdhury was also present on the occasion.
