SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today visited different areas of Bandipora district and took stock of Rabi Crop Scenario.
Besides different Crop fields, Director Agriculture inspected soil testing laboratory and initiated sowing preparations under Hi-tech polyhouses at Aloosa Bandipora.
Speaking to the farmers, Director Agriculture said that the department is committed to the development of the farming community of the region. He directed the concerned officers to provide all the technical guidance to the farmers especially to those who have brought new lands under the cultivation of different rabi crops. He asked the officers to remain in close touch with the farmers who have introduced new vegetable crops under Controlled conditions.
During the visit to the soil testing lab, Director Agriculture said that the purpose of Soil Health Card scheme is served only when it is ensured that the farmers use insecticides, pesticides, fertilizers etc strictly as per the recommendation of soil health card provided to them by the department.
Earlier, Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora, Javed Ahmad Samoon gave a detailed report of the agriculture scenario in the district. He informed the director about the successful implementation of the different centrally sponsored schemes in the district.
