JAMMU: In a bid to review the progress on Fertilizer License Updation and POS Device Distribution in J&K, Director Agriculture Jammu, S. Arvinder Singh Reen, chaired an important meeting at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan Jammu.
The meeting focused on the updation of fertilizer licenses for wholesalers and retailers, the procurement and distribution of L-1 POS devices by fertilizer companies, and the status of installation at retailer and dealer points across Jammu and Kashmir.
The discussions also included updates on the development of PACS as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Suvidha Kendra (PMKSK) in the Jammu and Kashmir UT. Additionally, the liquidation of POS stocks held on the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) portal was thoroughly reviewed to ensure smooth operations and transparency in the distribution system.
Director Agriculture underscored the importance of timely updation of fertilizer licenses and effective implementation of the POS devices, which are essential for streamlining the agricultural supply chain and promoting the welfare of farmers in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the need for continued collaboration between government agencies, fertilizer companies, and stakeholders to ensure that the required steps are taken swiftly for the benefit of the farming community in the Union Territory.
