SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal today flagged-off a group of 80 farmers, Agri- entrepreneurs from district Srinagar on exposure visit to central institute of temperate horticulture (CITH) Rangreth Srinagar.
During interaction with the touring farmers, Agri-entreprenuers, Director said that these visits are aimed at making farmers abreast with latest agriculture technologies on the field. He said that seeing is believing and when farmers visit such highly reputed institutions it motivates them to adopt the techniques and technologies there. Technical knowledge plays an important role in the successful crop cultivation, he added.
The program was organized by Chief Agriculture Officer Srinagar under CSS Support to agriculture extension (NMAET – ATMA) year 2024- 25 in collaboration with Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture Srinagar.
Chowdhury Iqbal said that such programs would be organized by the department for the farmers in all the districts of Kashmir division so that the benefits under different schemes and flagship programs reaches farmers in more effective manner.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Manohar Lal Sharma; District Agriculture Officer Srinagar, Sub-divisional Agriculture Officer Srinagar and concerned Zonal Agriculture Officers were present on the occasion.
