Deputy Commissioner approves Civil Defence plan 2023-24 for Rajouri District

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today approved the Civil Defence plan for the year 2023-24 here at a meeting after a comprehensive discussion with the officers of the Civil Defence department.

The meeting was highly productive as it focused on enhancing the safety and security of the residents of the district.

There are currently 220 volunteers in the district with majority of them in Rajouri, Nowshera and Sundarbani towns. The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the availability of crucial equipment and other tools used for rescue during natural calamities. He emphasized the need to organize awareness camps at the village level, especially in border towns.

To increase the manpower, the department was asked to focus on inducting new volunteers. The Deputy Commissioner also advised officers to utilize the services of volunteers for spreading awareness about the drug menace and educating the public about its harmful effects.

The Deputy Commissioner encouraged all residents to participate in the awareness camps and consider volunteering with the Civil Defence department.  

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajeeev Khajuria; District Information officer Rajouri, Narinder Kumar; DySP Civil Defence, Jabeen Lone; Chief Warden Civil Defence Rajouri, K. K. Langer and other officials of Civil Defence Department.
