RAMBAN: The district administration has stepped up efforts as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation programme (SVEEP) for the upcoming Special Summary Revision (SSR) in 2023. On the occasion, District Election Officer Ramban, Mussarat Islam flagged off an IEC van that will conduct awareness activities throughout the district about the SSR 2023.
DEO Islam emphasised the importance of raising awareness about SSR in all areas and urged young people who have reached the qualifying age of 18 to register as voters through offline or online mode. The IEC van will cover the district to inform and educate the public about SSR, with a focus on eligible youth.
Eligible and registered voters are urged to visit their respective polling stations, where the Draft Photo Electoral Rolls will be published, to file their claims and objections for updating. Claims and objections can be submitted from April 5 to April 20.
Two special camps will also be held on April 9 and 15, 2023, to target eligible youth. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective polling stations during these camps, providing necessary forms for registration.
Under the guidance of Mussarat Islam, Draft Photo Electoral Rolls have been published at all polling stations of both Assembly Constituencies of District Ramban, in accordance with the directions from the office of Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir.
Present on the occasion were Deputy District Election Officer Lal Chand, Electoral Registration Officer (ACR-R) Giasul Haq, Election Naib Tehsildar Mohan Lal, and other officers and officials from the department.
