DODA: District Election Officer (DEO) Doda Vishesh Mahajan today chaired a meeting of EROs, and AEROs, and discussed Pre- Summary Revision activities with reference to the 1st January 2024 as qualifying date.
The DEO, while discussing the activities, directed the EROs and AEROs to get the report on availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in every polling station. He asked them to take steps to ensure that the polling stations are equipped with the prescribed facilities.
Booth Level officers (BLO) were asked to go house to house and make necessary corrections in the electoral roll, including ADHAAR linkage, mobile number seeding and updation of Photographs to make the electoral roll 100% updated and error free.
The DEO instructed the election staff to revisit and submit the report for rationalisation of polling stations. He stressed proposing polling stations on the basis of feasibility and only in government buildings.
It was informed that the training of EROs, AEROs and BLOs have already been imparted for the latest IT applications in use for the electoral process. It was informed that apart from EROs and AEROs, 512 Booth Level Officers, supervised by 51 supervisors shall be actively involved in the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls with reference to 1st of January 2024 as qualifying date.
DEO reiterated that the special summary revision is crucial for the inclusion of new eligible voters to ensure they participate in the largest democratic process in choosing their choicest representatives. DEO directed the concerned to monitor the progress of all the BLOs and take strict action against the poor performing officials.
The meeting was attended by ADC Doda Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti, ADC Bhaderwah Chowdhary Dil Mir, Dy District Election Officer Doda Amresh Kotwal, all EROs, AEROs, ENT Doda Angrez Singh, Nodal Officer SVEEP Mohd Ashraf Wani and other concerned.
