ANANTNAG: The District Election Officer (DEO), Anantnag, Dr Basharat Qayoom today reviewed the progress of Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls of 2022 at DC Office, here.
Deputy District Election Officer apprised the chair that the summary revision is proceeding as per schedule. She said that while the publication of integrated draft electoral rolls was done by 15th of September, claims and objections filed by the public are being scrutinized. She said that special campaigns for registration of new voters as well as update of data related to specially abled persons is underway.
The DEO reviewed the progress in different areas with respective EROs and emphasized that every new voter should have the opportunity for registering themselves. He advocated a sustained IEC campaign under SVEEP to spread awareness about the electoral process as well as the importance of participating in the process.
The meeting was attended by EROs, AEROs and SVEEP nodal officers.
Separately, a painting competition was also organized at GHS Ranibagh which saw large participation of students.
