SRINAGAR: A Delhi Court on Saturday postponed hearing of Engineer Rashid’s interim bail plea until July 1 for taking oath.
The Court deferred the hearing after National Investigation Agency (NIA) sought more time to tender its response.
Earlier also the Court deferred the final verdict on the plea of Rashid for granting interim bail for taking oath as Member of Parliament on multiple occasions and te lastest one was on June 19, 2014.
Rashid recently emerged victorious over former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the Baramulla constituency during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, running as an Independent.
Rashid, imprisoned since 2019, faces charges under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) related to alleged terror funding. He is currently detained in Tihar Jail.
