DDC Kupwara reviews progress of RDD

KUPWARA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today directed the Officers  of Rural Development Department (RDD) to put extra efforts for completion of all ongoing work within the stipulated time frame.

The DDC was addressing a meeting of Officers of RDD here today, convened to review the pace of progress of works by the Rural Development Department.

During the meeting, the DDC took scheme wise detailed reviews and received feedback and updated status of development works from the officers.

The meeting was informed that as many as 46878 works have been approved under MGNREGA, of which 3099 have been taken up in hand and are at different stages of completion. The total MGNREGA budget for current fiscal stands at Rs.68.89 crore, while as labour (person days) generation has crossed 3 lakhs so far, was also informed.

Reviewing the progress of Amrit Sarovars, the DDC was informed that against the target of 75 works, the department took 338 works in hand, of which 231 Amrit Sarovars have been completed.

Regarding construction of Soakage Pits, against a target of 48506, 32954 have got technical sanction, out of which 910 are taken up for execution. Likewise, 110 Vermi Compost Pits have been taken up against the target of 3752.

Reviewing the Aadhaar seeding of job cards, it was informed that out of 1.85 lakh job cards, 1.80 lakh cards have got Aadhaar seedling, constituting 96.64 percent.

The DDC also reviewed progress of PMAY (G), Area Development Fund, BADP and CD Panchayats and was informed that 3478 cases have been approved under PMAY(G) for financial assistance. Out of which 2754 beneficiaries have received first instalment.

Under PRIs/ BDCs/DDCs, ADF 789 works have been allotted, out of which 71 works are completed.

Under BADP, 72 works costing Rs.3.34 crore were approved, out of which 20 are already completed, while 24 have been completed during the current financial year and 5 works are in progress.

Under CD Panchayats, as many as 215 works, costing Rs.6.83 crore have been approved, of which 104 have been allotted and taken up in hand for execution in the district so far.

Addressing the meeting, the DDC urged the officers to work with added dedication and honesty.

The DDC also enquired from the officers about the facilities at office and assured them that District Administration is always available to resolve any kind of problem.

Joint Director Planning,  ACD, AD Planning, DIO, Ex. Engineer REW, BDOs and other concerned attended the meeting.
