DDC Kupwara reviews progress of ongoing projects under J&K Housing Board, PMGSY, R&B

KUPWARA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray today stressed the officers to ensure completion of all ongoing projects within the given timeframe.

 The DDC was addressing a meeting of concerned executing agencies, here to review the progress of various ongoing developmental projects in Kupwara district. He directed the officers to work with added dedication and pursue the targets assigned strictly as per the timelines.

 The DDC said that he will be personally visiting the sites of major projects in coming days in the district to take stock of progress achieved on ground.

On the occasion, the DDC took a department wise detailed review of the projects under J&K Housing Board, PMGSY and R&B departments.

It was informed in the meeting that 13 projects were taken up by J&K Housing Board for execution in the district. Among others, these include District Hospital Handwara, PHC Devar Lolab, PHC Hajinar, PHC Nowgam, 50 Bedded Ayush Hospital at Kulangam, District Court Complex Kupwara, Residential School Kupwara, Gujjar & Bakerwal Hostel Zangli, Girls Hostel at GDC Women Kupwara and Veterinary Hospital cum LDO Office at Handwara. Out of these, 3 projects have been completed and work is apace on the rest of the projects.

The DDC directed the DGM J&K Housing Board to expedite the work of ongoing projects and ensure their completion.

Reviewing the PMGSY sector, the DDC was informed that 185 schemes were taken up by the PMGSY in the district, out of which 167 schemes have been completed as on the date with an expenditure of Rs.547 crore.

He was also informed that 215 km fair weather road length and 590 km black topping have been achieved in the district.

The DDC also took a detailed review of all projects of R&B Division Kupwara, Handwara and Tangdar and got the latest status and feedback from the concerned engineers.

Superintending Engineer R&B, DGM J&K Housing Board, JD Planning, Executive Engineers of R&B and PMGSY, AD Planning and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
