DDC Kulgam reviews status of JJM work projects

KULGAM: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review progress made in implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the district and status of works under Jal Jeevan Mission.

During the meeting, SE Hydraulics informed the chair that there are a total of 218 works in the district, out of which 204 works were tendered and 149 works stands allotted while execution of taken up works are going on with full pace.

The DDC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households must be achieved as per the projected timeline.

He said that the Mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households.

During the meeting, the DDC was informed that under Catch the Rain programme, 102 water bodies have been Geo tagged and 404 water bodies have been restored and work on 1441 rain water structures have been completed.

The meeting was attended by S.E Hydraulics Bijbehara, JD-Planning, ACP, DFO, Executive Engineers from Kulgam and Qazigund, AEEs and other officers.
