POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary inaugurated the first batch of training under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, here today.
The inaugural ceremony took place at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Poonch and witnessed the commencement of Tailoring (Darzi) training, providing an invaluable source of skilled enhancement for aspiring Vishwakarma candidates.
The Superintendent Government ITI Poonch, Er. Jawaid Ahmed, extended warm welcome to Deputy Commissioner and members of District Level implementing Committee members including the General Manager District Industries Centre Poonch, Khalid Hussain Wafa, District Treasury Officer, Rashid Dostum and staff members of Govt. ITI Poonch.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner shed light on the Vishwakarma Scheme and various other government initiatives. He informed that the training program would span six days, with participants receiving a daily stipend of ₹500, amounting to ₹3000 in total.
Additionally, a sum of ₹15000 would be granted for procuring a toolkit. Furthermore, the government would extend a loan of ₹100000, accompanied by a 5% interest subsidy on first tranche.
Deputy Commissioner encouraged the trainees to leverage their skills and open their own businesses in the market, such as carpentry, boutique, plumbing, among others, in order to seize opportunities, earn a livelihood, and lead fulfilling lives.
The General Manager of DIC, Khalid Hussain Wafa also addressed the gathering and provided further insights into the Vishwakarma Scheme and its associated benefits. His informative speech highlighted the scheme’s potential to empower individuals and foster entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to the socio-economic growth of the region.
