DDC Chairman, DC Udhampur attend Weekly Block Diwas at Latti

UDHAMPUR: District Development Council Chairman, Udhampur Lal Chand and Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai today presided over the weekly Block Diwas program at  Latti in Udhampur district.

 BDC Chairman Darshan Kumar, DDC member Latti-Marothi Pinky Devi, DDC member Narsoo, Subash Chander, ACD Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, PRI members, and a large number of public  from adjoining panchayats actively participated.

During the event, a range of public issues and demands, such as the renovation  of the Mantalai to Bupp road, land compensation, blacktopping and  completion of under construction roads, posting of  X-ray technician in PHC Latti, establishment of a sub-center in Latti, establishment of a Degree College, upgradation of Girls Middle School Latti to High school, appointment of a Veterinary doctor, establishment of a fire service station, construction of a sports stadium, repairing of the Zonal Office building, upgradation of post office sub-branch, laying of BSNL optical fiber from Chennai to Latti, opening of a State Bank of India branch, construction of a foot over bridge, establishment of a guest house, proper verification of ration-card holders, and construction of the road from Latti to Sira were discussed.

The concerned functionaries took note of all the public demands.

The DDC chairman assured the public and PRIs that their legitimate issues would be addressed promptly.

The DC directed officers to work diligently to ensure the timely delivery of deserving services to the people.

Emphasizing that these outreach camps bring governance to the doorstep of the public, the DC highlighted the improvement in the delivery of public services. He also informed the public about various Government of India schemes designed for their welfare, encouraging the  public to take full advantage of these initiatives.

 In a significant gesture, the Deputy Commissioner handed over a ₹20,000 cheque to a family left homeless due to a fire incident.
