DDC Bandipora inspects 100-Bedded Girls Hostel

Directs for speedy completion of pending tasks

BANDIPORA: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad undertook an inspection visit to the newly-constructed 100-bedded Girls Hostel at Kaloosa today.

During the visit, the DDC assessed the progress of the ongoing construction works and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the completion of pending tasks.

The DDC said that inspection was conducted as part of commitment to ensuring the provision of safe and comfortable accommodation facilities for female students in the Bandipora district. He said the Girls Hostel, a significant project initiated by the District Administration, aims to address the accommodation challenges faced by female students pursuing education.

Accompanied by a team of officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and other concerned departments, the DDC inspected the infrastructure including the building structure, electrical fittings, plumbing, and other essential amenities. He also interacted with the supervising engineers and construction workers to ascertain the status of the project.

During the inspection, it was noted that substantial progress has been made in the construction of the Hostel and a significant portion of the work has already been completed. However, certain pending tasks and finishing works were identified, which require immediate attention and timely completion.

Expressing satisfaction with the overall progress, Dr Owais emphasized the importance of prioritizing the completion of pending works to ensure that the Girls Hostel becomes fully functional at the earliest.
