DDC Anantnag reviews progress of RDD

ANANTNAG: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Anantnag, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today directed the officers of Rural Development Department (RDD) to put extra efforts for completion of all ongoing works within the stipulated time frame. 

The DDC was addressing a meeting of officers of RDD here, convened to review the pace/ progress of works by the Rural Development Department.

During the meeting, the DDC took scheme wise detailed reviews and received feedback and updated status of development works from the officers.

ACP while apprising the chair gave the details of SWM, LWM, PWM, IHHLs, ODF, physical and financial status of ongoing and completed works, compost pits, community type pits etc.

The DDC directed the BDOs to come up with an action plan for the management of waste in rural areas and complete all works within a month’s time. 

Regarding IHHLs, DDC said that the scheme is aimed at providing the basic facilities to the needy.  He said segregation, disposal of waste material should be done in a planned manner to ensure sustainable waste disposal without creating dumping sites. He said that the aim should not be symptomatic treatment but to set up a robust framework for waste management in rural areas.

Addressing the meeting, the DDC urged the officers to work with added dedication and honesty. He directed the officers to complete Geo-tagging of IHHLs, CSCs, community assets, etc.

Among others the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, ACP, Ex. Engineer REW, AD Planning, BDOs and other concerned officers.
