SAMBA: The District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC), which met today here under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, discussed revival of the Cooperative sector and action plan for the implementation of the prestigious “World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan” in the Cooperative Department.
The Concerned departments were directed to identify land for a modern Grain storage unit in District Samba. The chosen site will align with the “World’s Largest Decentralized Grain Storage Project” initiated by the Ministry of Cooperative.
The meeting stressed on putting in extra efforts to establish new Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and raise awareness among farmers and the public in collaboration with NABARD.
The DC informed that the PACs will now be eligible for operating retail Petrol and LPG outlets for which a process has been initiated to identify eligible PACs.
Five PACs from District Samba were nominated for Jan Aushadi Kendras to improve access to generic medicines in rural areas.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to all participants and emphasized the DCDC’s commitment to foster cooperative growth and uplift the agricultural landscape in District Samba.
ADDC, ACD, ACR, CAO, CHO, CSHO, CAHO, DDM NABARD, Lead Bank Manager, AD Fisheries, Dy Registrar Cooperatives, Assistant Registrars Samba district and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
