RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma, and Senior Superintendent of Police Gourav Sikarwar on Friday   reviewed the security arrangements for labourers working at various sites of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) across the district.

Chairing a meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the implementation of robust security measures at all BRO work sites. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure the installation of CCTV cameras at every work site for enhanced surveillance and monitoring. This step, he noted, will deter potential threats and assist in real-time tracking of activities around these critical zones.

Highlighting the importance of on-ground security, DC Abhishek Sharma instructed for deployment of security guards both at the work sites and the residential facilities of the labourers to provide 24/7 protection. He further directed the installation of barbed wire fencing at all work sites to prevent unauthorized access and enhance perimeter security.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the need for thorough background verification of all labourers through the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He instructed BRO officials to ensure that comprehensive details of every worker are submitted for verification at the earliest, ensuring that only verified individuals are engaged in these crucial projects.

SSP Gourav Sikarwar assured full cooperation from the police department in implementing the security measures. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between the administration, BRO, and the police to ensure the safety of labourers, particularly in sensitive areas. He further directed the local police to maintain regular liaison with BRO officials and conduct periodic inspections of work sites and residential areas to address any security concerns.

The meeting was attended by senior officers of the district administration, police, and representatives of BRO.
