SHOPIAN: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta today chaired a meeting of the District Level Export Promotion Committee here to review and approve the District Export Action Plan (DEAP) for Shopian district.
The meeting comprehensively discussed the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, with special attention to positioning Shopian as an Export Hub, particularly for products like apples.
It was informed that that 51000 MT CA storage is already functional in the district, 28000 MT under MSME and 14000 MT under PPP mode are in pipeline.
It was also informed that 17 KKG’s are already functional in the district and another 33 KKG’s will be made functional in the near future.
DC stressed for enhancing the export potential of Shopian district, contributing to its economic progress and prosperity.
He also directed the Horticulture and Agriculture departments for preparing a plan for establishment of quality control labs in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, General Manager, DIC, Shopian, CPO, CHO, CAO and others.
Joint Director, DGFT, Joint Director, MSME, DDM, NABARD and others attended the meeting in virtual mode.
