SAMBA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Samba, Rajesh Sharma chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) across the district.
The review focused on accelerating key works, including tubewell drilling, installation of electro-mechanical equipment, Overhead Tank (OHT) construction, and the establishment of filtration plants. The DDC emphasized the mission’s goal of providing clean drinking water to every household and directed executing agencies to adhere strictly to project timelines.
He instructed officials to expedite pending tasks such as pipeline laying and infrastructure setup while maintaining efficiency and quality standards. Specific directions were issued for resolving land issues related to WSS Bassi and GREF at the earliest. Additionally, the DDC stressed the need for swift Har Ghar Jal (HGJ) certification of fully covered villages on the portal and directed that all completed JJM and UT Capex schemes be made fully functional without delay.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Champa Devi, XEN PHE Division, civil and mechanical AEEs, and the Project Manager of DPMU Samba, along with other stakeholders.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to achieving 100% water supply coverage under JJM, the DDC emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to ensure sustainable and reliable water access for all residents.
