SAMBA: The Deputy Commissioner of Samba, Abhishek Sharma, chaired a crucial preparedness meeting at the DC Office Samba to discuss the upcoming launch of Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) in the district.
During the meeting, DC Sharma emphasized the importance of a uniform setup across all KKGs. He directed the installation of singages, standees, along with the availability of pamphlets detailing various schemes under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP).
He stressed that Krishi Udyamis must work with zeal and dedication to create awareness among farmers about advanced machinery and agricultural schemes. The provision of digital facilities to farmers was also highlighted as a key focus area.
Furthermore, DC Sharma underscored the necessity for Krishi Udyamis to provide timely information to farmers regarding the availability of seeds, pesticides, and other essential inputs. He urged the establishment of kiosks and emphasized the importance of ground-level visits to engage directly with farmers.
The collection of soil health data was identified as a priority to track yield and improve agricultural practices. DC Sharma also highlighted the need to enhance communication skills, basic agricultural knowledge, and computer usage among Krishi Udyamis.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Samba, Champa Devi, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, and other district and sectoral officers.
