DC Samba reviews construction status of Bunkers, BADP Projects

SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting in the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex, Nandani Hills, to assess the progress of ongoing bunker construction and Border Area Development Programme (BADP) projects in the district.

The meeting focused on reviewing both the physical and financial progress of these projects, which are essential for improving infrastructure and security in border areas.

At the outset, Chief Planning Officer Kasturi Lal provided a detailed briefing on the current status and milestones of the projects. Executive Engineers (XENs) from the Public Works (R&B) Department of Samba and Vijaypur divisions, and the REW Samba, presented their specific requirements, outlining budget needs to ensure smooth project execution. Addressing these concerns, DC Sharma assured the officers that he would engage with higher authorities to secure the necessary funds, emphasizing that the financial constraints would not hinder the progress of these critical projects.

The DC also directed the officers to stay in regular communication with their respective contractors to address any public requirements promptly. He stressed the importance of resolving issues in the field in a timely manner to ensure the projects meet community needs effectively. “Stay in contact with your contractors and work collaboratively to address any challenges. These projects are for the welfare of our people, and it is our duty to meet their expectations,” he advised.

Key officials in attendance included the Assistant Commissioner Revenue Samba, Assistant Commissioner Development Samba, Tehsildar Samba & others. Each officer was tasked with providing regular updates and ensuring that their responsibilities aligned with the project timelines.

The DC reiterated the importance of transparency, efficiency, and coordination among departments. He instructed all officers to closely monitor progress, maintain proper documentation, and provide timely updates. The Deputy Commissioner assured that the administration would offer full support to overcome any challenges and achieve the set goals.
