Directs to scale up pace on ongoing works; stresses on conducting more IEC activities
KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today convened a meeting of concerned Officers to review status of works under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.
During the meeting, the DC took detailed review of physical and financial progress made on various JJM Works.
Executive Engineers from Qazigund and Kulgam Divisions informed the chair that there are 222 works under 143 schemes/projects under JJM in the district.
Out of total 222 works, 217 works stand tendered, 141 works have been taken up for execution while 09 works stand completed.
The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households must be achieved as per the projected timeline.
He said that the Mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households.
The DC directed all the concerned officers to scale up pace on works under JJM so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated period.
He asked the officers to regularly monitor the quality and progress on all allotted works for time-bound completion.
Dr Bilal said that information dissemination is an important component of the mission and stressed on conduct of more widespread IEC activities.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, JD-Planning Zahid Sajad, Ex. Engineers from Qazigund, Kulgam and AEEs besides other concerned Officers.
