DC reviews preparations for Lal Draman Winter Festival

DODA: Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the Winter Festival at Lal Draman, scheduled on February 8, 2025.

The festival is being organized by the District Administration Doda in collaboration with the Tourism Department and NGO Tejas Ek Pehal. The DC said the festival will commence with the National Anthem, followed by a series of cultural performances, folk activities, and speeches, along with the display of government department stalls.

To enhance the event’s vibrancy, the DC instructed officials to organize a flag rally featuring the Tricolour. A plantation drive will also be conducted as part of the festival. Additionally, the festival will include sports activities, a tug-of-war competition, and on-the-spot health camps for the public.  

The meeting was attended by district officers, members of NGO Tejas Ek Pehal, and concerned artists. The DC instructed 10 RR and the Cultural Club Doda to arrange a sound system for the event. The XEN PWD was directed to ensure proper road clearance and smooth connectivity, while officials from the Agriculture Department, ICDS, Army, and NRLM were asked to set up stalls at the festival. Arrangements for transportation and guest accommodations for participants were also discussed. Additionally, the ACD Doda was tasked with arranging refreshments for both children and artists participating in the festival.
