DC reviews physical, financial progress of development projects in Kishtwar District

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan reviewed the physical and financial progress of several iconic projects in the district. The review meeting involved comprehensive discussions on project status and challenges, with the Deputy Commissioner issuing specific directions to expedite their timely completion. 

While reviewing the progress of the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall, DC directed the concerned agencies to complete the balance work within one week. 

For the 100-bedded Block at District Hospital Kishtwar, he emphasized expediting construction work, clearing pending liabilities, and gearing up contractors for swift execution. 

The construction of Government Degree College (GDC) Chatroo was also discussed, focusing on resolving encumbrances. The DC issued directions to address these challenges promptly. 

In a move to ensure immediate utilization of the Scheduled Caste (SC) Hostel in Chatroo, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Kishtwar to take up the pending funding issue with higher authorities. 

The status of the Atholi Bridge was reviewed in detail, with the DC urging concerned agencies to expedite the pace of work. 

Further, for Government Degree College (GDC) Paddar, DC Shavan directed the executing agencies to complete both electrical and civil works within 15 days. 

The review also included the Allopathic Dispensary in Inderwal, the 50-bedded Ayush Hospital at Indiranagar (executed by JK Housing Board), and the B.Sc. Nursing College (executed by Police Housing). The DC provided necessary instructions to ensure their prompt functionality. 

Additionally, special focus was laid on the Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar, where the DC instructed the completion of pending works to ensure the timely operation of laboratories and commencement of classes. 

The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of adhering to timelines and maintaining quality standards. He emphasized the significance of these projects for enhancing infrastructure and improving services across the district, urging all departments and contractors to work with dedication and resolve bottlenecks efficiently.

The meeting was attended by CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali, DSWO Kishtwar Zubair Ahmed,CMO Kishtwar Dr. Rajinder Kumar, XEN PWD besides representatives of various indenting departments.
