DC reviews implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (G) work Plan in Rajouri district

96,514 IHHL units, 165 segregation sheds, 312 community sanitary complexes completed

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today reviewed the progress of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen work and activities. The review covered a range of initiatives and projects aimed at improving the quality of life in the rural areas of the district.

The meeting was informed that against the target of construction of 312 Community Sanitary Complexes 161 have been completed till date, besides constructing 96,514 IHHL units and 165 segregation sheds.

In addition to these achievements, the DC also emphasized the need for effective management of grey water to prevent contamination of water sources.

The progress on soakage pits was also reviewed and the DC emphasized the need for proper maintenance and monitoring of soakage pits to ensure their effectiveness in managing water resources.

Meanwhile, the meeting also discussed the location plan for the construction of plastic waste management units in each block of the district. The DC asked the BDOs to formulate the plan in consultation with the public representatives.

The review highlighted the significant progress made by the RDD sector in Rajouri in improving sanitation and hygiene facilities in rural areas.
