DC reviews implementation of PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai today  chaired a meeting in her office chamber to assess the recent developments in the Pradhan Mantri Kissan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme in the district.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Ghan Sham Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Joginder Singh Jasrotia and other officers.

Chief Agriculture Officer Sanjay Anand provided an overview of the current status under the PM Kissan Samman Nidhi scheme in the district. He highlighted that the scheme, funded entirely by the Government of India, provides income support of Rs. 6000 per year in three equal installments every four months to all landholding farmer families. The funds are directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

During the meeting, DC emphasized that all eligible farmers must benefit from the PM Kisan scheme. She urged the concerned departments to promptly address issues within their purview and directed them to identify and enroll any left-out beneficiaries at the earliest. The DC instructed officers to activate field staff, mobilize farmers, and clear all pending matters by December 15, 2023, in the district.
