Calls for removal of encroachments, strict enforcement measures

REASI: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nidhi Malik chaired a comprehensive review of the Revenue Department to assess digitization of land records, including Jamabandies, eviction of encroachments from state land, status of revenue court cases, SAMITVA schemes, online services on the Jan Sugam portal and land acquisition cases. The meeting focused on expediting critical processes to enhance efficiency and transparency in revenue administration.

The Tehsildars were asked to complete the verification of digitalized Jamabandies within a week and address concerns related to dual verification. Stressing the importance of safeguarding state land, she instructed revenue officials to ensure no fresh encroachments occur and to expedite the resolution of pending revenue court cases. Additionally, she emphasized the need for increased field visits, particularly to schools, to strengthen on-ground monitoring and governance.

The DC underscored the importance of adhering to construction regulations, urging officials to encourage citizens to obtain proper permissions and take stringent action against illegal structures. She reiterated the administration’s commitment to transparent and effective revenue management, calling for proactive measures to streamline online services and improve overall service delivery
