DC Ramban reviews arrangements for Kisan Sampark Abhiyan under HADP

RAMBAN:‌ Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mussarat Islam today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for smooth conduct of farmers’ orientation programme (Kisan Sampark Abhiyan) under Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) here.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Kasturi Lal; Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr. Suhail Jan (District Nodal Officer) CAO, CHO,   DSHO,   and others from Agriculture and Allied departments.

The HADP aims at holistic development of the agriculture sector by pushing agriculture and allied sectors to a new trajectory of growth with economy, ecology, and equity as its guiding pillars. The GI tagging of the products, integrated farming, and handholding of the farmers for better produce and linking their products with fair market are some of the objectives of the HADP.

During the meeting, District Nodal Officer, CAHO apprised the chair regarding the arrangements put in place  for the successful conduct of farmers’ orientation programme under the HADP which will be held from 24th April upto 31st of August 2023.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers of Agriculture and allied departments to give the programme a wide publicity in advance so that mass participation of the farming community can be assured.

He also asked to inform the farmers about modern tools and techniques that have been incorporated in HADP to overcome the prevailing constraints and use different extension methods to motivate the farming community in adoption of proposed interventions in the approved projects.

He assured all possible help from District Administration for the successful implementation of the programme in the district to uplift the livelihood of the farming community.
