RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today inaugurated a Job Fair to provide more job opportunities to the unemployed youth of the district under different agencies.
The Job Fair was organized by the District Employment and Counselling Centre (E&CC) Ramban in collaboration with Mission Youth at district headquarter.
Among others, GM, DIC, Ravinder Anand, Assistant Director, Employment, Dr Sushant Mahajan, CEO Ramban, Dev Anand and other senior officers of line departments present on the occasion.
The Job fair witnessed the participation of reputed private employers from different sectors and different allied Government Departments for promoting their self-employment Schemes and established their stalls for placement of the eligible aspirants.
Lauding the efforts of the administration in arranging a meeting of job seekers and employers in one place, the DC raised the concerns of unemployed youth and urged the participating companies to engage maximum youth to give a boost to their careers. He also appealed to the unemployed youth to take a keen interest in self-employment and become entrepreneurs to generate livelihood for themselves and others as well, adding that the Government is committed to their hand-holding under the ambitious Mission Youth Programme.
Dr Mahajan impressed upon the Employers and Job seekers to register themselves on the Employment Portal of Government of Jammu & Kashmir by visiting www.jakemp.nic.in and also advised the job seekers to get the information regarding various self Employment Schemes of different line departments whose stalls were installed in the Job fair.
As many as 12 employers from different sectors participated in the event which included companies like SBI Life, Jamkash Automobiles, Fairdeal Motors, New Convent School, Muskaan Foundation, Wani Motors and others.
Various concessionaire companies like GAMMON India ,CPPL who are executing various projects in NH-44 also offered various posts like Tunnel managers, machinery operators etc during the Mega Job Fair .
The event witnessed an overwhelming response from job seekers. More than 500 unemployed youth/jobseekers from the district Ramban participated in the event. Various unemployed youth were shortlisted by the participating companies and over 21 selections on the spot were also made.
The unemployed youth from district Ramban expressed their gratitude to the District Employment and Counseling Centre, Ramban for organizing this job fair and bringing employers to their doorsteps.
Meanwhile, the DC also handed over the appointment letters to newly recruited Aayas (Helpers) of various panchayats under Smagra Shiksha in the Education Department Ramban.
