DC Rajouri address public grievances at village Dhangri

RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today listened to demands and issues of residents of village Dhangri at the weekly Block Diwas event.

A wide range of local concerns, from infrastructure to public services, were discussed in an open forum allowing the DC and district officials to engage directly with the community.

Residents voiced their demands seeking road connectivity, completion of pending work on PMGSY road in Saranoo, construction of PS Jaba building, provision of adequate staff in the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department, resolving bottlenecks hindering the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) works, electric poles for remote areas, and the need for improved road access to Dalhori Panchayat and Argi to Salyote.

They also complain about delayed requisition of transformers and water pipes for dug wells.

Other issues included delays in release of payments under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), renewal of gun licenses, approval of pending PMAY cases, repair of  GMS Godar and Saranoo GMS buildings, forest area fencing, anti-drug initiatives, and release of compensation for land acquired for Rajouri-Kalakote road project.

DC Abhishek Sharma gave a patient hearing to each grievance and deliberated with concerned officers to expedite solutions.  Responding to complaints of delayed road work, he asked the ACD to blacklist contractors who have left work unfinished.

Executive Engineer JJM was directed to complete all pending schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission and prepare estimates for rope crossings near the dug well in Saranoo.

Ex En PMGSY was tasked to assess link roads for potential inclusion in development plans. The CEO was directed to address the repair needs of school buildings.

Ex En PDD was directed to survey locations requiring new poles and transformers. The CMO was asked to visit PHCs and resolve healthcare grievances.

SHO was directed to set up checkpoints to monitor and control the movement of drug traffickers.

Public awareness was also raised regarding the ongoing Dharti Aabha and Janajatiya Gaurav Divas celebrations, emphasizing the significance of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Block Diwas events were conducted in other sub-divisions across Rajouri district, led by Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs). These events also served as platforms for addressing local concerns, ensuring that each area’s specific needs were met through direct engagement with officials.

The event at Dhangri was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Raj Kumar Thapa, District Mineral Officer (DMO) Mohammad Sayeed, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Maqsood Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats (ACP) Sheraz Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Vijay Kumar, and executive engineers from the PDD, PHE, and PMGSY, along with other sectoral officers.
