DC Poonch reviews ongoing Labour Department Schemes

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review the progress and impact of various ongoing schemes of the Labour Department. The session highlighted the importance of enhancing services for local labourers.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner provided a comprehensive overview of the 24 online services currently available, including the Shop and Establishment Act registration, registration under the Contract Labour Act etc. He emphasized the need for the Assistant Labour Commissioner to ensure that all eligible labourers benefit from these schemes.

With a registration of 22,000 labourers in the district, the Deputy Commissioner urged the ALC to increase the number of contractors registered under the Contractor Act. He also directed the establishment of a dedicated helpline to assist labourers, ensuring they encounter no obstacles in accessing their rights and services.

The Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that all government schemes reach labourers promptly and effectively.
