DC Poonch addresses developmental issues of Colleges

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal, reviews various developmental challenges faced by colleges in the Poonch district.

The meeting brought together concerned officers who presented their respective issues, including land acquisition for hostel construction, drainage problems, boundary wall constructions etc.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner announced that the land for Mandi College will be officially awarded on January 3, 2025. He emphasized the urgent need for the construction of the boundary wall at Mendhar College, instructing the concerned executive engineer to expedite the process.

Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner revealed the allocation of 10 kanals of additional land for the establishment of Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels in both Mendhar and Surankote Degree College.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned executive engineer to ensure that the G +1 structure under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is completed within one month, highlighting the administration’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure in the region.
