KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today visited various areas of the district to take stock of the situation arising from ongoing heavy snowfall. He inspected several Health facilities and Government offices and checked the attendance of the staff.
During the visit, the DC visited PHC Trehgam and inspected the health facilities being provided to the patients. He also inspected the ongoing Covid vaccination of 15-17 year children and was informed that 600 doses have been given so far in the PHC.
The DC directed the concerned to visit Winter Tutorial centres in the block to ensure maximum coverage of the vaccination of the target group.
He also visited BDO Office Trehgam and checked the attendance of the staff.
On the occasion, the DC found the BDO and some of his staff absent from duty. He directed the ACD Kupwara to take action under rules against the absentees.
Earlier, the DC inspected Receiving Station and PDD Workshop at Tikker Kupwara and directed the concern Ex. Engineer to ensure power supply as per schedule to the people especially health facilities.
The DC took stock of ongoing snow clearance in Kupwara town, Trehgam, Hirri Qadirabad and other major areas and directed the officers to keep their men and machinery available in the ground so that people do not face any inconvenience.
The DC was accompanied by various officers.
