KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today convened a joint meeting of engineers of Jal Shakti department, PMGSY, R&B and DFOs of Kupwara district at DC office complex, here to review the implementation of National Jal Jeevan Mission and discuss the status of execution of various water supply schemes in the district.
The DC took scheme wise review and received feedback from the concerned engineers regarding measures taken for execution of different JJM schemes and their timely completion.
He asked all concerned departments to work in coordination and Synergy and make optimum use of available resources and ensure execution of all schemes on mission mode to chase the target of JJM.
The DC stressed on gearing up all resources to speed up the execution of JJM schemes.
It was apprised in the meeting that 116 Schemes under JJM with project cost of 615.15 crores have been approved in revised District Action Plan in Kupwara district which include 55 schemes of PHE Division Handwara, 44 Schemes of PHE Division Kupwara, 13 schemes of SS division Tangdhar and 4 schemes of PHE GWD Srinagar.
Regarding the coverage of households, the meeting was apprised that out of total 1.75 Lac households, 1.106 lac have been connected with tap water facility rest are being covered under JJM.
Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed; SE Hydraulic, Muhammad Saleem Malik; Ex. Engineers of PHE Kupwara, PHE Handwara, Mechanical Kupwara, PMGSY and R&B; DFOs Kamraj, Kehmil and Langate; AEEs and JEs of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
