KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited D.H.Pora block where he presided over a grievances redressal camp and listened to issues and grievances of people.
Locals and PRI members from the area apprised the DC about various issues and put forth the developmental requirements.
All the issues were listened to patiently by the DC and several issues were redressed on the spot.
Later, the DC along with PRI members kick-started solid waste management programme for two panchayat halqas in D.H.Pora.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said that about 85 percent of the population is residing in villages and the government is focused on making these villages clean and beautiful.
He added that for door to door collection of waste, e- rickshaws will be provided to all panchayats for collection and proper disposal of the domestic wastes in segregation sheds.
He urged the people to be proactive and give full support to make villages clean and more attractive.
ACD Kulgam briefed the public about the SWM programme and its benefits.
SDM Noorabad, ACR, ACD, ACP, Tehsildar, BDO, BMO and other officers were present in the programme.
