KULGAM: Taking governance at the doorsteps of people, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited Checkpora area in Kulgam and convened a grievances redressal camp here.
During the camp, PRI members and locals apprised the DC about their issues and grievances besides the developmental requirements of their areas which include flood protection bund, Macadamization of Checkpora Bemidora road, repairs of irrigation canal, extension of playfield and other demands of public importance.
All the issues and grievances flagged-off by the people and PRI members were listened to patiently by the DC and scores of issues were redressed on the spot.
While responding to the demand of flood protection bund, the DC approved additional R.10 lac for construction of flood protection at river Veshow.
Present on the occasion were ACR, ACD, ACP, BDO and other officers.
Earlier, Amrit Sarovar was also inaugurated by PRI members and Deputy Commissioner and other officers were also present at the event.
On the occasion, the DC highlighted and appreciated the role of PRIs in development and progress.
