DC Kulgam reviews progress made in implementation of ‘PM Vishwakarma’ scheme

KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers at mini-secretariat here to review the progress made in implementation of ‘PM Vishwakarma’ Scheme in the district.

During the meeting, the chair was apprised that so-far 6177 applications under the scheme were received and 689 were approved at level 1st.

While reviewing the formation of logins, the DC was informed that 32 logins were approved till date, and the rest are under process.

The DC instructed concerned to ensure early formation of pending logins by updating the requisite information on the portal.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is a transformative initiative of GOI and the scheme will directly benefit thousands of artisans and craftspeople.

It was informed that the scheme offers a range of benefits including toolkit incentive of Rs 15,000, training to artisans, Rs 500 per day during training, collateral-free credit support up to Rs 1 lakh (first tranche) and Rs 2 lakh (second tranche) at a concessional interest rate of 5%, incentives for digital transactions and marketing support.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, JDP Zahid Sajjad, ACP, GM DIC, DIO, DIO NIC, CSC Manager and other concerned officers.
