KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review functioning of Cooperative Department in Kulgam along with implementation status of Yuva Sahakar and Ayushman Bharat.
At the outset, the DC took detailed review of the updated Audit position of cooperative societies, financial status of the units, besides discussing issues faced by societies.
The Deputy Registrar Cooperative apprised the chair that there are a total of 87 functional Cooperative Societies/Cooperatives in the district. Under Yuva Sahakar, three societies shall be recommended and DPR for these societies are under process, he added.
The DC directed the concerned to frame these DPRs at an earliest.
During the meeting it was also shared that DPR for the food Processing unit stand submitted.
While sharing the data and figures of business turnover of Cooperative Societies it was informed that during 2021-22, the turnover was 15.02 crore whereas in the current financial year there is a turnover of 2.80 crore.
The Deputy Registrar also informed that 119 new societies have been recommended for registration under Cooperative Act 1999, and 51 were given registration and the rest are under process of registration.
The DC underlined the need to frame a well knit strategy to revive the cooperative culture through active collaboration of different departments.
The meeting was attended by JD-Planning, Deputy Registrar Cooperative, GM industries, CAO, CAHO, DSHO and other officers.
