KULGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Wednesday convened a public outreach programme under weekly Block Diwas at far-off and hilly area Waltengoo Nad Kund, here.
The programme witnessed overwhelming response of people from Oriel, Kraloo, Kanchloo, Panchgamnad, Waltengoo nad, Nigeenpora, Waripora, Razloo and other villages who apprised the DC about their issue and grievances for early redressal.
Auqaf Committee members and PRI members also participated in this grievance redressal camp and put forth issues and demands of the area.
The visiting delegations of public and the PRIs demanded shifting of PHC to new building at Waltengoo, Children park in Waltengoo, Macadamization of link roads in Waltengoo, further extension and development of playfield, development of park near ziarat shareef, development of Kachloo Satrangan road, construction of marriage hall at Kund, Bank branch at Nigeen pora, construction of new school building at Oriel and augmentation of water supply scenario besides other demands and issues were flagged-off during the grievances redressal camp.
Officers on the spot responded to the queries and demands of people pertaining to their departments.
The DC after giving patient hearing to the public addressed some of the immediate nature of grievances on the spot.
He also directed officers to ensure prompt and speedy redressal of issues and demands of people.
The DC also impressed upon the concerned to conduct awareness programmes in the areas to sensitize youth about various self-employment and other beneficiary oriented schemes.
Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Kulgam, Mohmmad Imran Khan also briefed about the action taken on various grievances and issues raised in previous Block Diwas.
He also briefed about the works taken up under various centrally sponsored schemes in the area by the Rural Development Department.
DDC member Kund besides ADC, ACR, ACD, ACP, CMO, BMO, AD Handloom & Handicraft, Tehsildar, BDO and other officers also attended the programme.
Meanwhile, Block Diwas functions were also held at Block D.H.Pora and Kulgam, where concerned officers listened to issues and grievances of people.
