KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of works under PMGSY sector here at DC office complex today.
It was given out in the meeting that a total of 68 schemes, 22 schemes for Kathua and 46 schemes for Billawar PMGSY divisions were earmarked for providing road connectivity in uncovered habitations.
During the appraisal of the progress achieved by twin PMGSY divisions, the DC was informed by the Executive Engineer PMGSY Billawar that 23 schemes have been completed of a total 46 sanctioned schemes of which 12 schemes would be completed by April 15 2023 besides remaining 11 schemes would be completed by the end of June of current fiscal year.
Executive Engineer Billawar also apprised that 5 works under City and Town scheme would be completed by March 2023. He also disclosed that two schemes under PMGSY -III are under implementation and work on which shall be completed by October 2023.
Similarly, Executive Engineer PMGSY Kathua apprised the Deputy Commissioner that out of total 22 schemes, 8 works have been completed. He informed that remaining 14 works have been taken up by the department of which 6 works would be completed by April 15 and another 8 works would be completed by June 2023.
The Executive Engineer PMGSY Kathua disclosed that all works under City and Town scheme have been completed whereas 7 works under PMGSY -III would be completed by June 2023.
The DC directed both the Executive Engineers to pace up the speed to complete all works in a time bound manner besides calling for removing bottlenecks to achieve maximum target works within stipulated time.
Regarding the pending works, the DC called upon the concerned officers to fix responsibility of the contractor to avoid unnecessary delays on their part.
